At the Pine Knolls NC Aquarium, you can get up close and personal with all sorts of sea and wildlife. Learn about the area’s famous loggerhead sea turtles, watch sharks and sea life, navigate an underwater shipwreck replica, and interact with stingrays. You will learn all about the NC ecosystem. Also, be on the lookout for special exhibits.
Fort Macon played an important role in the Civil War and North Carolina’s history. Today, you can still walk through the fort and learn about what life was like at the military post. Fort Macon Park also includes great views of the ocean and walking paths to explore.
You can also visit the wild horses at the Rachel Carson Reserve, explore the Cape Lookout National Seashore and Lighthouse, learn something new at the North Carolina Maritime Museum, and enjoy the many shops along Front Street and the downtown area.
If you are looking for outdoor activities, there is no shortage. You can go deep-sea fishing, rent a kayak, paddleboard, or jet ski to do some exploring, go hiking, biking, scuba diving, parasailing, kiteboarding, golfing, or horseback riding. You can really choose your own adventure and spend time getting to know the Crystal Coast.
